CLPO, Inc. Lake Association In Need of Shore Captains

The Clear Lake Property Owners, Inc. Lake Association are asking our members to consider being a shore captain for their neighborhood. We need ten volunteers representing all Clear Lake areas, volunteers who will serve as association eyes and ears in support of our lake quality projects – eyes for monitoring lake quality issues and ears for hearing and reporting issues of concern to neighbors in their area on Clear Lake.

Shore Captains will be a key component in a financial grant we plan to seek to monitor Clear Lake for the presence of zebra mussels. Our plan calls for volunteers to hang a small piece of pvc pipe connected to a rope on their docks and to monitor for the presence of zebra mussels.

Zebra mussels are known to cling to such objects and our early detection of them will help us seek remedies before they multiply to the point of being a serious problem.
